JAN HOY SCULPTURE SELECTED FOR YOUNGSTOWN FLATS
Youngstown Flats, a new apartment complex being built in West Seattle has commissioned Jan Hoy
to create an 8' Cor ten steel sculpture for the courtyard. More news and photos to come as the project progresses.
Installation will be in late 2012 or early 2013.

Jan has been asked by the Olson Kundig Architects to give a presentation covering her sculptural career.

Four Northwest curators select regional artists from different generations whose works share affinities of subject, style, and/or process. The works on view in each grouping echo each other, offering considerations of their commonalities despite differences in date and medium. Kathleen Moles, MoNA curator has paired the sculptures of Jan Hoy with the paintings of northwest painter, Guy Anderson.

New works in fired clay with patina will be featured in a two person showing. Working in clay has allowed Jan to work larger - and a portion of the show will be dedicated to larger work - approximately twice the size of her bronze sculptures. The pieces will be finished in either a blue patina or a rust patina, giving this exhibit a variety of colors and sizes.
